L2 — Flying with Screens L2-SCREEN / L2D-SCREEN

Building a flown L2/L2D array while fitting each enclosure with its L2-SCREEN or L2D-SCREEN front screen and side panels, one enclosure at a time. Reference: LA-L2-SCREEN-01. Follow in order — this is a sequential rigging procedure, not an independent checklist; steps depend on the ones before them.

Safety notes

Minimum 2 operators. Screws: 8 M4×40 and 16 M5×30 per screen (provided). Tools: electric screwdriver with torque selector, T20 and T25 Torx bits.
Risk of falling objects — verify no unattached items remain on the product or assembly. Use available holes to implement a secondary safety.
The side panels block access to the buttons and latches of the automatic locking system — strictly follow the sequence below.
Deploy the fins before securing the front screen.
Do not reuse the grill screws (M4×30) or cabinet screws (M5×20) to fit the screen — use the provided M4×40/M5×30 hardware only.

Prerequisites

Each L2 is unpacked and rests right-side up on a stable flat surface; each L2D is unpacked and rests on its rear side on a stable flat surface with a protective mat. The selected main rigging element is already secured to the top enclosure. See Flying with L2-BUMP and L2-BAR or Flying with L2-RIGBAR.

Adding the Next Enclosure

Select the pickup points and slightly raise the top enclosure, then position the next enclosure below the array and lower until the bottom edge of the top enclosure meets the top edge of the bottom enclosure at the front. Pull on the front latches and rotate the rigging arms of the bottom enclosure, then press the buttons on both sides of the bottom enclosure to activate the automatic locking system. Press the buttons on both sides of the top enclosure to pre-activate the automatic locking system, then pull on the rear latches of the bottom enclosure while extending the rear rigging arms. Pull back the bottom enclosure while lowering the array — the automatic locking system button locks and the latches engage.

Fitting the Screen (Top Enclosure)

Remove 12 screws per side on the L2 enclosure — the four grill screws (triangles) with the T20 Torx bit, the eight side-panel screws (circles) with the T25 Torx bit. Keep the screws in case the screen and panels are removed later. On an L2D, remove 10 screws per side instead (four grill, six side-panel). Deploy the fins, then secure the front screen to the top enclosure using 8 M4×40 screws — do not reuse the M4×30 grill screws. Apply 5 N.m with the T20 Torx bit. Secure the side panels to the top enclosure — 8 M5×30 screws per side on an L2, or 8 per side on an L2D. Do not reuse the M5×20 cabinet screws. Tighten with the T25 Torx bit until flush with the panel, orienting each panel to its "UP" mark.

Adding the Next Enclosure Below the Screened One

Rest the next enclosure on a protective mat below the array (on its rear side, if an L2D), then lower the array until its bottom edge is close to the top edge of the next enclosure at the front. Pull on the front latches and rotate the rigging arms of the bottom enclosure, then press the buttons on both sides of the top enclosure to pre-activate the automatic locking system. Pull on the rear latches of the bottom enclosure while extending the rear rigging arms. Secure the front screen to the new enclosure with 8 M4×40 screws (deploy the fins first), then secure its side panels — 8 M5×30 per side on L2, 8 per side on L2D. If the new enclosure is an L2D: slightly raise the array while supporting the L2D — do not let it rest on its narrow edge, support it until it can hang freely above the protective mat — then pull back the L2D until the rear rigging arms engage with the top enclosure. Do not lower the array to pull it back. Press the buttons on both sides of the bottom enclosure to activate the automatic locking system.

Final Panels and Repeat

On an L2D, remove 10 screws per side (four grill with T20, six side-panel with T25) before fitting its screen and panels the same way as above. Secure the side panels to the top enclosure using 6 M5×30 screws per side. Do not reuse the M5×20 cabinet screws. Tighten with the T25 Torx bit until flush with the panel. Raise the array, then repeat adding, screening, and locking each subsequent enclosure until the array is complete.
