K1 — Flying with K1-BUMP (Caterpillar Method)

Flying a K1/K1-SB array by adding enclosures one at a time directly off their individual K1-PLA dolly boards, instead of pre-building a block on K1-CHARIOT. Reference: LA-K1-CATERPILLAR-FLY-01. Follow in order — this is a sequential rigging procedure, not an independent checklist; steps depend on the ones before them.

  • Rigging accessories: 4× 22 mm shackles WLL 3.25 t, K1-BUMP, K1-PLA.
  • Minimum 3 operators.
  • This is an alternative to the block-based flying method — enclosures are added one at a time, each shipped on its own K1-PLA dolly board, instead of pre-building a block of four on K1-CHARIOT first.
  • Use available holes to implement a secondary safety.
  • Use a strain relief on cables to avoid mechanical stress at connector locations from cable weight.
  • Same procedure applies to K1-SB.
  • Prerequisite: prepare K1-BUMP; if necessary, secure LA-RAK II AVB on K1-BUMP.

The CATERPILLAR layout
K1-BUMP > 0.7 m / 2.3 ft EACH ENCLOSURE ON ITS OWN K1-PLA DOLLY lifted one at a time

CATERPILLAR builds the array flat on the ground first — every enclosure on its own K1-PLA dolly board in a row — then K1-BUMP, raised at the front, peels them up into a vertical array one enclosure at a time.
