Kara — Under SB18 Array De-rig

De-rigging a standalone KARA array from beneath a flown SB18 sub array, ending with the SB18 array itself ready for disassembly. Reference: LA-KARA-FLY-SB18-DERIG-01. Follow in order — this is a sequential de-rigging procedure, not an independent checklist; steps depend on the ones before them.

Lowering ARRAY#2

Remove both safety slings from the main rigging structure. Lower ARRAY#2 to a comfortable height. (If a pull-back was used) Remove KARA-PULLBACK: lower the pullback chain to release tension, remove the motor hook/stinger from the shackle, then while holding the KARA-PULLBACK, move the 4 bottom R-BLP from the yellow link holes back into storage and remove the KARA-PULLBACK. With two people working simultaneously on each side, set ARRAY#2's inter-enclosure angles to 0°: grab KARA#6's back handle, remove KARA#5's rear top R-BLP, rotate KARA#5 to align the cursor with 0°, secure with an R-BLP in the 0° angle hole, then repeat for KARA#6.

Landing ARRAY#2

Place an empty flight-case, remove the cover, and position the tray beneath ARRAY#2 — slopes upward front to rear. Lower the array to slightly higher than the tray. With two people working simultaneously on each side, remove the rear connecting points between ARRAY#1 and ARRAY#2: grab KARA#5's back handle, move KARA#3's rear bottom link R-BLP back into storage, rotate ARRAY#2 downward to place its rear corners into the tray while still suspended from the front connecting points, then move KARA#4's rear top angle R-BLP into the angle arm's storage position. Lower the array until ARRAY#2 is fully in the tray and the front rigging points are in contact. Remove the front connecting points between ARRAY#1 and ARRAY#2: remove both of KARA#4's front top link R-BLP, slightly raise ARRAY#1, move both of KARA#3's front bottom link R-BLP back into storage, then rotate both of KARA#4's front arms down and secure them with R-BLP in their top storage holes. Push ARRAY#2 away from the rigging location and replace the flight-case cover.

Lowering ARRAY#1

Lower ARRAY#1 to a comfortable height and set its angles to 0° by repeating the ARRAY#2 angle-setting method. Place another empty flight-case, remove the cover, and position the tray beneath ARRAY#1 — slopes upward front to rear. Lower ARRAY#1 into the tray until the bottom SB18 is resting on the M-BUMP.

Disconnecting the SB18 & Pack-down

Disconnect the 4 connecting points between the bottom SB18 and the M-BUMP: on each point, remove the T-BLP from the M-BUMP, rotate the arm down, and re-secure it with the T-BLP. Push ARRAY#1 away from the rigging location. Remove the 4 R-BLP from the M-BUMP and remove the M-BUMP from ARRAY#1. Set ARRAY#1 for transport on both sides of KARA#1: remove the front top link R-BLP, slide the front arm up, rotate it down, and re-secure with an R-BLP in the top storage hole; remove the rear top angle R-BLP, slide the angle arm to its storage position, and secure with an R-BLP; then replace the flight-case cover. Set the M-BUMP for transport by reinserting its 4 R-BLP into their storage locations. Disassemble the SB18 array per the SB18 Rigging Manual (external document — not covered here).
