V/Y Series — Rigging Tops

Rigging a V8/V12 or Y8/Y12 top cabinet array from the touring cart. Reference: VY-MAN-RIG-TOPS-01. Follow in order — this is a sequential rigging procedure, not an independent checklist.

Cart & Frame Preparation

Undo all rear locking pins on the top cabinets in the touring cart. Insert one pin per box according to the list of splay angles generated in ArrayCalc. Extend the front links of the top cabinet and check that the front links of the other cabinets are engaged correctly. Set the pick point on the flying frame by mounting the load adapter to the central bar as specified by ArrayCalc (including half-hole detents if needed).

Mounting the Frame

Lower the flying frame using the chain motor (with a hoist connector chain) until the front links of the top cabinet fit into the front slots of the frame. Insert the pins on both sides to secure the front links. Release the locking pin of the frame's rear splay link, lower the frame slightly, gently guide the hook to engage the rear pin of the uppermost box, and insert the safety pin.

Building the Array

Raise the array out of the touring cart so the rear splay links interlock with the preset angle pins automatically. Insert the safety pins into the hole directly below the angle pin for each cabinet. Follow the same process for the next set of boxes: extend top front links, align slots precisely, lower the first set onto the second, raise out of the cart, and engage remaining safety pins. Store the rear hook of the lowest cabinet in its parking position by briefly disengaging it, placing it straight up, and reattaching the splay and safety pins.
