GSL/KSL — Compression Mode Manual Hoist

Rigging the array in compression mode using a manual lever hoist. Reference: GSL-MAN-COMP-01. Follow in order — this is a sequential rigging procedure, not an independent checklist; steps depend on the ones before them.

Frame & Load Beam Setup

Attach the load beam to the aiming plate and front pick using three hoist connector chains. Slide the load beam onto the flying frame and lock it in standard orientation.

Preparing to Build

Lift the package slightly and prepare the compression set (compression frame, chain, master link, lever hoist). Attach the compression chain to the corresponding hole on the load beam and attach the Grab Link (position based on ArrayCalc). Connect the chain of the manual lever hoist to the Grab Link. Release the splay link of the lowest cabinet, flip it up, and remove the two front links to detach the SL touring cart.

Building the Array

Insert one angle pin per cabinet into the rear rigging strand (using the Blue holes for Compression Mode) according to the ArrayCalc splay list. Lift the array to make room for the next touring cart below. Extend the front links, lock them into the uppermost hole, and lower the array to connect the front links. Fold down the splay link, ensure the locking pin is set to 0°, engage it with the splay link, and insert the safety pin before releasing the cart. Set the splay angles for the remaining loudspeakers and ensure the splay link of the absolute lowest cabinet is set to 0°.

Compression

Attach the compression frame to the front, remove the rear safety pin, engage the splay link, and reinsert the pin. Connect the master link chain to the compression frame and attach the lever hoist through the O-ring. Pull excess chain through the lever hoist, engage the clutch, set the lever to lifting mode, and compress the array until the torque handle clicks/shows a red indication. Set the select lever to neutral, attach the master link chain to the compression chain (acting as a secondary safety bypass), and attach the chain bag.
