GSL/KSL — Compression Mode Chain Motor

Compressing the array with a motorized chain hoist instead of a manual lever hoist. Reference: GSL-MAN-COMP-MOTOR-01. Assumes cabinet splay angles are already set and the array is lifted per standard compression mode preparation.

Motor Setup & Compression

Verify the chain motor conforms to the D8+ standard with double brakes (maximum allowed motor size is 1 ton). Confirm in ArrayCalc that the selected motor size has the capacity to compress the required number of cabinets. Lift the load beam to attach the cable pick, plug in the motor cable, and attach the load beam to the flying frame. Set all cabinet splay angles and lift the array using the standard compression mode preparation steps. Attach the compression frame to the bottom of the array. Pick up the compression frame using the secondary chain motor (replacing the manual lever hoist). Run the chain motor until the chain stops moving (ensuring the friction clutch is properly set) to automatically compress all cabinets to their desired fly angles.
